Getting Published With Us

Q: I really want to publish my work. Where do I begin?
A: Complete our Manuscript Submission Form and let us know what you are looking for in a publishing package. Submit the form with your completed manuscript and we will give you a cost estimate once we have evaluated your work. The evaluation process takes about two to three weeks from receipt of your manuscript.

Q: How much does it cost to submit my manuscript to Ivy House?
A: To submit your completed manuscript is free! While not every manuscript meets our standard of excellence, we will fully and completely evaluate your work for content and commercial viability. We’ll give you honest, professional feedback and an indication of our interest in offering an official Publishing Agreement.
Please understand we take our evaluations seriously and will offer evaluations on completed manuscripts only.

Q: Do I need a literary agent to submit my completed manuscript to Ivy House?
A: No. Unlike traditional publishers, Ivy House welcomes unsolicited manuscripts of all genres from any author with the dream of becoming a published author.

Q: Ivy House is a subsidy publisher. Does that mean Ivy House offers to publish everything that is submitted?
A: Absolutely not. Ivy House takes pride in the work that we choose to publish, and not all manuscripts meet our standards of excellence. After fully evaluating your work for content and commercial viability, we will let you know our honest, professional feedback and whether we would be interested in moving forward with a Publishing Agreement.

Q: Does my manuscript need to be copyrighted before I submit it to Ivy House for evaluation?
A: Technically, your work is copyright-protected as soon as you document it (record it on paper, type it, etc.). No one can use, publish, reproduce, post, or claim it as his/her own without your written permission. However, if you’d like the piece of mind of knowing that your work is legally registered with the copyright office, visit http://www.copyright.gov/ to learn more about the registration process and to actually register the copyright of your manuscript.

Q: I have additional questions. Who can I call to get more information?
A: Ivy House takes pride in our personal service to authors. If you have questions not answered here, please call or e-mail us. We are here to offer guidance from the start of your project through fruition.
